Dr. William B. Smith is a highly skilled cardiothoracic surgeon with expertise in adult cardiac surgery and general thoracic surgery. He specializes in myocardial revascularization, surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation, mitral valve repair and replacement, and trans-catheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Dr. Smith is proficient in minimally invasive thoracic surgeries, including robotics-assisted lobectomy and mediastinal tumor resection. He also performs various vascular surgeries such as carotid endarterectomy and TEVAR.

Dr. Smith holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residencies in General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery at Keesler Medical Center and Ochsner Clinic Foundation, respectively. He is board-certified in both General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery.

With a commitment to education, Dr. Smith serves as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has been recognized for his excellence in vascular, endovascular, and cardiothoracic surgery with the Taylor Pickett Award. His military service includes a distinguished career in the United States Air Force Medical Corps, where he achieved the rank of Major.
