Dr. Jose David Tafur Soto is an accomplished interventional cardiologist specializing in structural heart disease and peripheral vascular intervention. He serves as the Program Director for the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Ochsner Clinic Foundation and is an Associate Professor of Medicine at The Ochsner Clinical School, University of Queensland. Dr. Tafur Soto has extensive experience in advanced interventional cardiology techniques, including trans-catheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and complex coronary interventions.

Dr. Tafur Soto obtained his medical degree from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He furthered his training with fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine, Interventional Cardiology, and Structural Heart Disease at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. His research focuses on innovative cardiovascular interventions, and he has been involved in numerous clinical trials and studies, contributing significantly to the field of cardiology.

Dr. Tafur Soto has received multiple awards for his contributions to medical education and research, including the Cardiology Fellowship Mentor of the Year Award and the Resident and Fellow Research Mentor of the Year Award at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. He is actively involved in professional societies such as the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention, where he holds leadership roles.
