Dr. Hamid Salam, MD, FACC

Director of Structural Heart Program - Lakeview Regional Medical Center

Dr. Hamid Salam is a highly skilled interventional cardiologist with extensive expertise in structural heart procedures and complex cardiovascular interventions. He currently serves as the Director of the Structural Heart Program at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, Louisiana. Dr. Salam earned his medical degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine followed by a Cardiology Fellowship at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he also served as Chief of Cardiology Fellows.

Board-certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, and Internal Medicine, Dr. Salam has held numerous leadership roles, including Medical Director of Cardiovascular Service Line and Director of the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) Program at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He specializes in high-risk coronary interventions, TAVR, ASD/PFO closure, and complex peripheral procedures.

Dr. Salam is actively involved in research and clinical trials, contributing to advancements in cardiovascular care. His expertise has earned him invitations as a faculty speaker for major medical conferences. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and an active member of various medical organizations. Dr. Salam’s commitment to patient care and medical leadership has established him as a prominent figure in the field of interventional cardiology.
