Dr. Peter S. Fail, MD, FACC, FACP, FCCP, FSCAI

Dr. Peter S. Fail is a distinguished interventional cardiologist with extensive expertise in cardiac catheterization and structural heart interventions. He currently serves as the Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories and Interventional Research at the Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Houma, Louisiana. Dr. Fail completed his medical degree at The American University of the Caribbean and pursued an Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he later completed a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Fail is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Interventional Cardiology. His professional career includes significant leadership roles, such as Medical Director of Cardiology at Terrebonne General Medical Center and Medical Director of Interventional Trials at Cardiovascular Institute of the South. He has played a pivotal role in advancing cardiovascular care, including performing the first non-investigational endovascular AAA repair in Louisiana.

Dr. Fail is an active member of numerous professional societies, including the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, and the Society for Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. His contributions to the field are reflected in his involvement in clinical research, including several ongoing clinical trials, and his many publications in reputable medical journals. Dr. Fail’s commitment to advancing cardiovascular medicine has earned him multiple awards, including the Gerardo Voci Award in Invasive Cardiology and recognition as Teacher of the Year at the Episcopal Heart Institute.
